New York City Inspiration

This past weekend I spent Sunday in Soho. I have always loved New York City and always dreamed of living there at some point in my life. This past trip really opened me up to a new culture of artists that I had never experienced before. As I walked along the streets, there were local artists lined up displaying their art and selling most of their work right out of the back of their cars. I usually try to avoid museums simply because I think they are boring but the art that I was seeing along the streets was some of the most interesting and beautiful art I have ever seen. Most of the art was very contemporary and used bright colors and visually capturing techniques that I envy the artists for being able to create. Over the course of the day, I began to develop a completely new appreciation and understanding of what it is like to spend your days doing something you love even if it means that you are not living a million dollar lifestyle. I am not as scared as I used to be when it comes to expressing my artwork because I know that there will always be somewhere with people that will appreciate it for what it is. Possibly that place will be SoHo some day.
